If I understand the concept correctly, a “life coach” behaves the way you would expect your best friend to. Meaning, they talk to you plainly about your life, advise you, listen to you. Only you have to pay a life coach.
People these days are too afraid and politically correct to call a spade a spade, so now you have to pay people to do it.

I suspect you’re not serious with this question, but a “life coach” helps his/her client define their personal goals in life… taking it out of a vague concept to real action steps. The coach then periodically checks in with the client to see how he is progressing towards the milestones they set together and if necessary they redefine goals that have become unrealistic, unreachable, accomplished, whatever.
Basically, a life coach helps keep his client focused on what the client has decided is important in his life. It’s about accountability.

A life coach is basically a psycologolist who uses their position of power to build your self esteem so that you have the self confidence to do things. Basically it is someone convinces you to do something you are too chicken to do otherwise.
